• there is no smoke
• the silk becomes fine ash
• smells like burnt hair
• if you remove the flame, the silk stops to burn

If when you burn the silk, the silk drips and has black smoke plus it doesn't stop to burn after you remove the flame, then the silk definitely is not real silk.

Silk Quilt is one of the best thing i had bought in China. Silk shopping at Tianhou Silk Factory is my favorite China tour. Silk Quilt is a thick bed covering made of silk. Silk Quilt is also called silk comforter, silk duvet, or silk blanket.

The interesting thing about Silk Quilt is the price is not based on the size but based on the weight, the heavier the more expensive ,silk quilt price would be. This is the silk quilt price list at Shanghai Tianhou Silk Factory :

• 1000 g = 380 rmb
• 1250 g = 480 rmb
• 1500 g = 580 rmb
• 2000 g = 680 rmb
• 2500 g = 780 rmb

I think it is a reasonable price for its benefit and quality. I bought the lightest one, 1000 g. If you live in a tropical country like me, i think the 1000 g silk quilt would be enough. So if you go to China, Silk Quilt is a must buy product! Always include silk shopping in your China tours.

Shopping Silk at Tianhou Silk Factory

Silk shopping at Tianhou silk factory was a wonderful holiday experience. After we watched the silk fashion show and silk making process at Tian Hou Silk factory, what did we do next ? it's time for shopping silk. The products i bought were :

• Tianhou Pure Silk Duvet Cover ( Bed Cover )
• Tianhou Pure Silk Pillow

I wanted to buy the silk shirts and the silk ties, but too bad i ran out of time. This is the weakness when we use travel agents, there is a time limit for shopping. Maybe the next China tours.

Silk fashion show at silk factory is my first private fashion show. I have never seen a fashion show before.

The first thing you do after entering the Tianhou silk store and silk factory, but before learning silk making process. You can watch a private silk fashion show. All the Chinese models are wearing silk wears.

The fashion show was good but one question i wanted to ask " Where was the smile ?". No models were smiling. Don't you know smile is the most important thing to sell ? but without smiles, did i buy the silks ? yes, of course , i still bought it. My tips for the silk models is a smile would be nice. Silk Making Process

On my China tour, i visited Silk factory and silk shop. The name of the store is Shanghai TianHou Silk Factory. yes, it is a factory plus a store, so we not only can buy the silk products but also see the silk making process. We can see the process of making silk after watching the private silk fashion show performed by Chinese models. Silk making process is very complicated, this is why pure silk price is very expensive.
